Get involved to cure Melanoma with Anne Arundel Dermatology

Melanoma is by far the deadliest form of skin cancer. Early detection of melanoma can significantly reduce mortality. The risk of dying from skin cancer is directly related to the depth of the cancer, which is directly related to the amount of time it has been growing unnoticed. In other words, earlier detection leads to thinner cancers and saves lives.

May is National Skin Cancer Awareness MonthTM and there is no better time than now to get checked and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

Help us spread the word about the importance of early detection by participating in these activities:

Take a skin cancer quiz: Visit our Facebook page and take a quiz to see how much you know – or don’t know – about prevention and early detection. We will randomly select three winners from the completed quiz respondents to win a $300 Visa gift card, $150 Visa gift card or a “Skin Protection Prize Pack” that includes great items to keep you safe in the sun.

Tell your story: Share how skin cancer affected you or someone you know. Include details on how early detection could have improved the diagnosis or how finding it early enough cured the cancer.

Once you have written your story, post it to our Facebook page. Three random submissions will be chosen to win a $500 Visa gift card, $250 Visa gift card or a “Skin Protection Prize Pack.”

Make sure that you take the quiz and submit your story before June 1 to be eligible to win! All of the winners will be announced on Facebook. For more details on how to participate, visit our Rules and Guidelines page.
