Stephen Flax, MD

Dr. Flax was born and raised in Upstate New York. He attended Carnegie Mellon University, where he graduated with University Honors. He subsequently went to medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, on an Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship. After graduating, he completed an internal medicine internship and residency at State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse. Next, he practiced internal medicine for 6 years in the United States Navy. He then completed a dermatology residency at the National Naval Medical Center. He has practiced dermatology in a private practice setting in Winchester, Virginia, for the past 22 years.

 

Dr. Flax has published several papers in the peer-reviewed literature as well as presenting at the Annual Meeting of the Americal Academy of Dermatology. He is board-certified in both dermatology and internal medicine. He is interested in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology with a special interest in psoriasis and skin cancer.
