Mary Braden, MD

Dr. Mary Braden is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist who joins Anne Arundel Dermatology after a ten-year career in the United States Army. She grew up in upstate New York and attended Siena College, graduating Magna cum laude, before attending medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She completed her residency training at San Antonio Military Medical Center and dermatopathology fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Dr. Braden was selected as the first chief resident for her class, and at the completion of residency, was awarded the Major David S. Berry award, given to the top graduating resident from all SAMMC residency programs. During her Army career, she served as the Chief of Dermatology at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning Georgia, and then on the dermatology teaching staff at Walter Reed for the last two years. Her military awards include the Army Achievement Award, Army Commendation Award with one oak leaf cluster, and Joint Service Commendation Award, among others. She has authored several articles in peer-reviewed dermatology journals and presented at numerous national meetings, including the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, the American Society of Dermatopathology Annual Meeting and Essentials Course, and the International Society of Dermatopathology Annual Meeting.

She resides in Washington, DC with her spouse and son.
